About BWW

Bicycle Wagga Wagga Inc. (BWW) is a group of cyclists who enjoy cycling as a social activity and want to promote cycling as a safe and responsible mode of transport. The group formed in 1997 and has continued since then to provide riding opportunities as well as fostering the advancement of cycling.

BWW was involved in the development of the Wagga Wagga Bicycle Plan and continues to work with Wagga Wagga City Council for the development, construction and maintenance of bicycle facilities in the city.

BWW organise regular weekly casual rides around Wagga Wagga designed to suit cyclists of all abilities, including families.

We also have two monthly rides. There’s The Fat Tyred Ride, a ride along some of the tracks and trails around the city, held generally on the first Sunday of the month.

The Long Ride, a road ride of about 100km, held generally on the second Sunday of the month.

In addition BWW have a series of weekend rides through out the year based in or from Wagga Wagga or further afield just for a change of scenery. Please see the Rides page for further information.

Safe Cycling

BWW promotes safe cycling through consultation with the Wagga Wagga City Council and the then NSW Roads and Traffic Authority now the Roads and Maritime Services. Safety campaigns have been conducted the most notable of which has been the Be Safe! Be Smart! Be Seen! campaign encouraging cyclists to increase their on-road visibility by choosing to use light coloured clothing and use reflective materials.

In addition BWW has agreed to follow the Code of Conduct produced by the Amy Gillett Foundation.

Other Activities

Club events involving maintenance of your bike, touring information, Club Nights and Social Evenings are organised for the benefit of members and other interested people.
